What does this jewelry represent?
This stunning sterling silver signet ring is the perfect piece for any modern Viking explorer, adventurer, or wanderer.
The signet itself is Vegvisir, also known as the Norse Compass. It is one of the magical runic staves found in the 18th-century Icelandic grimoires. It is a wayfinding symbol. Anyone who uses it will never lose their way, even if they don't know where they are going.
It has become a popular symbol among modern Viking explorers, and also those on a deeper spiritual journey.
On the sides of the ring are raven symbols. Ravens were the familiars of Odin, the god of wanderers among other things. Odin would often abandon his seat in Asgard and take to wandering the worlds to learn their secrets.
But Odin was always identifiable by his two accompanying ravens, Huginn (thought) and Muninn (memory).
